Bad Bodendorf

Bad Bodendorf is one of the prettiest villages at the Ahr, in terms of transport favourable situated and surrounded by a very charming and pretty countryside.

Bad Bodendorf is Sinzig biggest village and is situated at the start of the Ahr Valley. The small health resort has a wide variety of friendly gastronomies with the best of German cuisine.

In the southern part of the village is the health facility with drinking hall situated. Here you can drink the clear effervescent water coming from big depth. A bit further on is the thermal-swimming pool.

This thermal swimming pool with its nostalgic charm is ideal, apart from other activities, for relaxing. The thermal has at the spring exit a temperature of 27 degree Celsius. It is foremost suitable for families and elderly persons; this bath's lovely location at the forest is ideal for unwinding and a longer stay.

In Bad Bodendorf starts the widely popular 'Red-Wine Trail'. The path runs through the vineyards of the Ahr and then to Altenahr (25km) with excellent views over the Ahr countryside.

The old village centre around the church fascinates through many old and very pretty half-timbered houses in period surroundings.

Tranquillity with lots of nature is the plus point of Sinzig's biggest village (around 3.700 inhabitants). Unrivalled are the Ahr meadows, which stretches over a length of around 6km to the Ahr mouth near Kripp.

A big building area between the western Hauptstraße and the road 'Am Sonnenberg', which was just made accessible  ("In den dreizehn Morgen") will offer in the next few years space for buildings for around 300 - 400 people.

Bad Bodendorf is through its location in a valley basin climatically very favoured. The sun shines on more than average days per days. There are no buildings along the Ahr that's why the night's cold air is able draw away unhindered towards the east Rhine direction. This works like a great 'airing' and there is little fog.

Bad Bodendorf is often called the 'Gate to the Ahr' because of its location at the lower reaches of the Ahr just before the 'Golden Mile'.
