Gigantic structural-political success for the Nürbugring

'GIGANTIC STRUCTURAL-POLITICAL SUCCESS'

Landrat Dr. Pföhler: Formula 1 is responsible for 50 percent of the Nürburgring-returns. The Nürburgring and most of all the whole region will profit enormously, so says Landrat Dr. Jürgen Pföhler, from the continuation of Formula 1 till the year 2009. Between the racing-tracks a worldwide merciless competition war at the Formula 1' rules, which has increased through the new locations in Asia. That is why the extending of the contract is a 'gigantic structure political success for the district Ahrweiler and the Eifel", so Pföhler. The Entrepreneur's Group Nürburgring with its different business fields, events and the industrial area bring returns, which are especially important for the structure weak Eifel.  Dr. Pföhler: 'The Nürburgring safeguards around 3.000 direct and indirect jobs and creates economical means of existence for the whole region. Investments of 100 millions Euro alone in the past years brought respective orders for manufactures and entrepreneurs'. The ring is Germany's biggest sports place with annual 2 millions of visitors and has a 'structural political order'. Around 50 percent of the returns from the  Nürburgring GmbH originates from the Formula 1. A Grand-Prix-Weekend provides the region with more than 60 millions Euro returns. The District Administrator congratulates also in his function as member of the board of directors of the Nürburgring GmbH its chairman Dr. Walter Kafitz to an 'excellent negotiation success'. Pföhler directed his thanks also to the state Rheinland-Pfalz as majority shareholder. 'Without the massive support by financial state secretary Dr. Ingolf Deubel there wouldn't be a continuation of the Formula 1', emphasises the Ahrweiler District Administrator.
