Malschule (Art School) Roos
image author: Gerd Caspers The art school was founded in 1981 by the Dutch woman Roos Schäfer-Senteur. She managed still today the lessons supported by two co-workers. Situated in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, the art school caters for around 150 students from 6 to 86 years of age.
Not only painting and drawing lessons for everybody take place in the restored accommodation of the atmospheric old tithe house near the Ahrweiler marketplace but also exhibition in different forms, first and foremost the annual Easter egg exhibition, which is well-known beyond Germany's borders by connoisseurs and enthusiasts is one of the many highlights, which are presented by the art school.
Since the beginnings of the traditional old town festival in Ahrweiler takes the art school this opportunity regularly to present the school to the public and allows the visitor a view over the shoulder. Here we paint, draw, mould, cut stones...
